Choose Your Adventure

I'm a girl. Along with that comes the implication that I am into "chick flicks". While I like them, they are not my favourite movies.

Care to take a guess as to my favourite genre?

Action! I love anything with lots of intense action. When I saw The Fast & The Furious in the theatre, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. My date sure did know how to get my attention and win my heart with that one. Death Race held me captivated. Chaos and the Transporter movies also enthrall me.

Comedic action is another one. I enjoyed the Rush Hour movies but they don't hold my attention the way Jason Statham, Paul Walker, and Gerard Butler can. Tom Cruise and his Mission Impossible movies? Forget it. Tommy boy does absolutely nothing for me. I do like a few of him movies though. G.I. Joe and G.I. Jane were both good on the action.

Linda Hamilton was sexy as Sarah Conner in Terminator. Ziyi Zhang was decent in Rush Hour 2 and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon but she's not truly vibrant as an action actress. Diane Kruger can hold her own with some action scenes. Sigourney Weaver is awesome in action movies as one can see from watching her in Aliens. I wish more female actresses weren't afraid of getting their hands dirty or breaking a nail. That would be cool.

When it comes to comedies, I need that all-out-gut-busting laugh otherwise the movies just doesn't cut it. Stupid comedies like Scary Movie and Paul Blart:Mall Cop often only garner a short chuckle from me and then my interest wanes. What good is a movie if the viewer cannot stay interested in it? My dogs give me more comic relief than some movies.

Romance movies? Eh, I'm ok without them. I have some that are truly worth keeping and watching. I don't buy them otherwise. I'm not into horror flicks either. Although I will watch them via a rental. Someone would have to recommend them to me. I did like The Strangers. I won't watch realistic horror flicks at night.

Movies based on a true story is among my favourite genre. I love hearing about someone else's life. It makes me feel better when I think about how mundane my life is.

What kind of movies do you like? Any recommendations for me?
